Looking to make a splash in Kent? Whether you’re seeking a family-friendly haven or an invigoratingly icy dip, the garden of England offers a wealth of swimming pool options. From serene outdoor pools to thrilling wild swimming spots, read on to find the perfect swimming pool in Kent for you.

The Best Swimming Pools In Kent

Faversham Pools

First opened in 1964, Faversham Pools is an iconic spot offering swimming year-round across two indoor pools (with a Jacuzzi to boot) in natural light-filled spaces, and summer swims in three outdoor pools. Fuel up in the Tide Cafe with fresh coffee, homemade meals and tasty cake. Plus, if you’d like to romanticise your life, the 33 metre heated outdoor lido is open year-round for Sunset Swims.

Tonbridge Swimming Pool

Originally built in 1910, this lovely outdoor heated swimming pool is open from April to September, and has a neighbouring indoor pool inside, as well as a spa with sauna and steam room. Lounge in the beach area after your swim, where you can also grab something tasty to eat.

Find It: Castle Street, Tonbridge TN9 1HR. tmactive.co.uk

The Strand Lido & Leisure Park

This riverside tidal saltwater swimming pool in Kent was first opened in 1896, and is the only remaining pool of its kind left in the country. Expect six 25 metre lanes for fitness swimming, alongside an outdoor leisure pool, 300 metre lazy river, and paddle pool and slides, perfect for kids.

Find It: Pier Road, Gillingham ME7 1TT. Open on weekends, then every day during the summer holidays. medway.gov.uk

Walpole Bay Tidal Pool

Built and opened in 1937 and now Grade II listed, this four acre tidal pool – thought to be the UK’s largest tidal pool – reaches depths of 6 foot in places, perfect for a refreshing swim. There are no toilets or lifeguards and the pool can get rough at high tide, so tread carefully. Situated right by popular Margate’s Old Town, embark on some post-swim explorations, or a stroll along the beach.

Find It: Walpole Bay, Hodges Gap, Margate CT9 2JN. visitthanet.co.uk

Bewl Water

Elsewhere at Bewl, make a day of it with pedalos, paddle boarding, and plenty of scenic strolls.

Summer skin getting you down? Your routine should shift and change with the seasons, giving your skin the added protection or breathing room it needs to flourish (whatever the weather). If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to warmer months, fear not; we’ve asked leading aesthetic doctor and face surgeon Waterhouse Young Clinic, Dr Paris Acharya, what steps and ingredients we should consider when it comes to crafting the perfect summer skincare routine.

How To Build The Perfect Summer Skincare Routine

What Steps Should Be Added To Our Routine?

1. Cleanse

As with all good skincare routines, Dr Paris Acharya recommends kicking things off with a good cleanser. ‘The first step in your skincare regimen should be to cleanse your face with an appropriate cleanser for your skin type,’ she says. ‘I recommend double cleansing to ensure a truly effective clean. For ingredients to properly absorb into your skin as you continue on with your regimen, you need to ensure that your skin is free of oil and dirt. Spending just a couple of minutes cleansing your face will help reduce oily build-up and acne breakouts. This is particularly important at this time of year when people are applying sun lotion and spending more time outside exposed to external factors such as pollution, pollen and dust.’

So what kind of cleanser should we try when it gets warmer? ‘In summer months, I recommend using a light, creamy cleanser as it will allow your skin to feel fresh without stripping it of all its natural oils and moisture,’ suggests Dr Acharya. ‘If you’re someone that struggles with seasonal breakouts as we transition to warmer months, it may mean that your current skincare products are too heavy for summer – summertime generally means lighter beauty.’

2. Exfoliate

Winter isn’t the only season responsible for an influx of dry skin; many of us will experience dry skin (and flaky skin if you’re recovering from sunburn) throughout summer. As Dr Acharya recommends, ‘using a gentle exfoliator regularly is vital when moving into a new season to eliminate dead skin cells allowing new, fresh skin to blossom. If you are experiencing constant dry, dull skin, the answer is to exfoliate. I recommend using a daily exfoliator once a day that is specially formulated for consistent, regular use as this will keep skin smooth, clear in a gentle manner.’

3. Vitamin C

This water-soluble vitamin is typically found in citrus, fruits and vegetables, and is a crucial micronutrient to help our bodies function properly. In skincare, vitamin C acts as a powerful antioxidant and skin brightener, and can help even out hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage – making it an ideal ingredient to have in your skincare arsenal.

‘No matter your skin type, always apply vitamin C – also known as ascorbic acid – to your skin in the morning,’ recommends Dr Acharya. ‘It is a fantastic addition to a skincare regimen as it is a powerful antioxidant and one of the few skincare ingredients that has been proven to help in the battle against skin ageing.

‘Vitamin C is perfect for summer skincare as it fights against free radicals such as UV rays and can improve pigmentation caused by sun damage and scarring. It also encourages collagen production and helps protect skin against damage from the environment.’

4. Hydrate

You know what they say: stay hydrated, especially during summer. ‘Moisturising is one of the most important steps in a skincare routine, especially during the summer seasons,’ says Dr Acharya. ‘Often, our skin struggles to deal with the air and temperature change in summer, which can cause it to become dry and malnourished. So, I recommend a light yet nourishing moisturiser that will gently hydrate your skin. The Clearskin moisturiser from PCA Skin with Vitamin A and B is perfect for summer days as it lightly hydrates without clogging pores. Remember to always apply your moisturiser to your neck as well as your face to prevent ageing lines and wrinkles in all areas. At night, I recommend a slightly heavier moisturiser to ensure constant hydration throughout the night.’

Luxurious Face Creams For Dry Skin

5. SPF

While we should really be using SPF throughout the year, summer is the time it becomes as essential part of our skincare routine. As Dr Acharya notes: ‘SPF is one of the most important items in your beauty regime; it is vital for healthy summer skin. Apply your SPF to the face and neck in the morning under makeup and if wearing on your barefaced days, it is always recommended to reapply throughout the day. I always recommend using a minimum of SPF 30 to ensure effective protection throughout the day.’

Daily Face SPF Creams To Protect & Hydrate

6. Eye Cream

‘The skin around your eyes is extremely delicate so it is vital that we look after our eyes properly in the summer months where the sun is harsh on our skin,’ explains Dr Acharya. ‘So, it’s worth applying a gentle, brightening eye cream to create fresh-looking eyes for the warmer months ahead.

‘Always apply your eye cream with your fourth finger (ring finger), as this is the most delicate finger, and gently pat the cream in a circular motion around the eye, covering the eyelid and the under eye. This will ensure that the entire area is covered while also encouraging an eye lift with the application motion.’

7. Lips

And now for the final stage of your summer skincare routine: lips. ‘The last stage when it comes to creating a seamless summer skincare look is to take care of the lips,’ says Dr Acharya. ‘The lips are such an important part of the face and yet they often get forgotten when it comes to skincare. Many people forget to nourish their lips with a hydrating balm or serum and this can lead to dry, flaky lips.’

Which Ingredients Should We Look Out For?

Vitamin C

The Lowdown: Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that protects your skin from environmental factors and premature ageing

What it does: ‘Vitamin C (also known as ascorbic acid) is a hero product that can be used by most skin types in the morning,’ says Dr Acharya. ‘It is a fantastic addition to a skincare regimen due to powerful antioxidant activity and one of the few skincare ingredients that has been proven to help in the battle against skin ageing. Vitamin C is a terrific skin brightener that can help manage discolouration alongside other ingredients.

‘It is perfect for summer skincare as it is a powerful antioxidant that fights against free radicals such as UV rays and can improve pigmentation caused by sun damage and acne scarring. It also encourages collagen production and helps protect skin against environmental stress.’

Hyaluronic Acid

The Lowdown: This skincare ingredient provides instant hydration and moisture to malnourished skin

What it does: ‘Hyaluronic Acid is perfect for treating dehydrated skin as it provides instant hydration, and traps in the skin’s natural moisture and water levels to provide (and retain) deep hydration,’ explains Dr Acharya. ‘It is also a great ingredient for reducing lines and wrinkles as it helps the skin appear more plumped and firmer giving a gorgeous glow.’

Vitamin B3

The Lowdown: Another ingredient that helps create brighter skin, vitamin B3 is perfect for evening out your complexion

What it does: ‘Vitamin B3 is a powerful ingredient for those with skin discolouration as well as dull skin,’ says Dr Acharya. ‘It helps to reduce trans-epidermal water loss and improve barrier function, which is critical for healthy, bright skin. The vitamin works to prevent water loss and therefore retains your skin’s moisture.’

Retinol

The Lowdown: A powerful vitamin derivative that clears acne by helping cells regenerate

What it does: ‘Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A which plays an important role in helping cells regenerate and refresh,’ explains Dr Acharya. ‘This therefore means that retinol can help create new, younger looking skin. It is also the perfect ingredient for those with acne and breakout prone skin; retinol promotes a clear complexion and an even skin tone due to the cell turnover because as cells are regenerated, and oil production controlled your pores will be less likely to become blocked.

‘Although retinol is highly effective, I recommend using a powerful night time treatment on cleansed skin. If you use a retinol during the day, you will be exposing it to UV light which decreases the positive outcomes of the retinol. It’s very important to apply plenty of SPF when using retinol.’

The Country & Town House Responsible Buyers’ Guide

What Is Tenniscore?

Another fashion trend hailing from the internet, Tenniscore is a fashion trend that draws inspiration from tennis aesthetics and incorporates them into everyday outfits. The word itself blends the terms ‘tennis‘ and ‘core’ fashion, representing a fusion of sporty and everyday fashion for a streetwear-ready look.

‘As tennis’ popularity grows, alongside the super sociable sister sports of Padel and Pickleball, there is definitely going to be more of a focus on dressing up for court,’ said EXEAT founder Laura Ward in a C&TH interview earlier this year. ‘Expect to see the emergence of more polished silhouettes and a hark back to elegant racquet sport dressing. It’s all part of the ethos of tennis.’

In terms of the fashion itself, this Tenniscore is most commonly reflected in pleated skirts, polo shirts, tennis dresses, athletic shoes and visors. Think preppy-chic, and then make it slightly athletic. The idea is that you can blend in on the court, the sidelines and in the pub down the road from the venue, if you so wish.

Everyone loves a cocktail in the sunshine – hence why London’s annual cocktail festival is always a big hit. Cocktails in the City returns to Bedford Square Gardens in Bloomsbury for its fourth instalment this summer, taking place on three weekends throughout July, August and September.

Cocktails in the City: London’s Summer Cocktail Festival Is Back

It’s a chance to try world-class tipples from some of the capital’s best bars and bartenders, as well as take part in masterclasses, tastings and interactive games. From high-end hotels to speakeasies and buzzy new openings, the festival is designed to celebrate the trendsetting London bar scene – and being set within one square means you can get a taste of hotspots from all over the city without travelling.

This year’s line-up features names including Chotto Matte, Hutong, Nightjar and Hacha, among others. Cocktails in the City is split into three different events: Inspiration Edition from 6 – 8 July, The Travel Edition from 17 – 19 August, and A Festival of Drinks from 7 – 9 September.

New for 2023, guests will be provided with a loyalty card in partnership with Blade Labs, where they can rate their drinks in exchange for complimentary drinks. The results will then generate audience voted winners for things like best cocktail and best overall experience.

Bartender making drinks

Inspiration Edition

The first weekend of the festivities will focus on highlighting the latest cocktail trends and spotlighting innovative names. A mix of familiar favourites and new talent will feature in the events, including Zetter Townhouse, Hacha Agaveria, Blue Bar at The Berkeley, and Henson’s Bar and Social. Festival goers can also take part in workshops such as The Art of Hosting by London Essence, and ice carving with Ice Carving Cool. 6 – 8 July

The Travel Edition

This instalment of Cocktails in the City is all about escapism, featuring flavours from Mexico, Japan and more. Try cocktails from bars like Nikkei-inspired Chotto Matte, Japanese hotspot The Aubrey at The Mandarin Oriental, and Thai favourite Laki Kane. 17 – 19 August

Evening at Cocktails in the City

A Festival of Drinks

Last but not least, the September event will amp up the fun element with live music, silent discos, games and more. This weekend will see Bedford Square Gardens transformed into an immersive cocktail celebration complete with spritzes and slushies aplenty, featuring appearances from top London bars like Bourne & Hollingsworth, The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town and more. 7 – 9 September

When the weather plays ball, al fresco dining in London is a real treat. Many of the capital’s restaurants have open-air terraces – from riverside retreats to botanical greenhouses and rooftop hotspots overlooking the city skyline. Here we round up the best outdoor restaurants in London, where you can soak up the sunshine while tucking into everything from Mexican to Italian and Peruvian.

Al Fresco Dining: Best Outdoor Restaurants in London

The Laslett

The Laslett Terrace

Chic Notting Hill hotel The Laslett has reopened its terrace for the summer season. Set up camp beneath the striped canopy and enjoy classic dishes with a twist, made using ingredients from local hotspots like Natoora and HG Walter. Alongside this, sip special cocktails such as the Honey Spritz, made with London-based bitter Beesou, and ice cream sundaes from Hackney Gelato. Watch out for live music performances too.

8 Pembridge Gardens, London W2 4DU, living-rooms.co.uk

Beaverbrook Town House

With just five tables, it won’t be easy to get a spot on the brand-new terrace at Beaverbrook Town House. The stylish space is decked out in tones of pastel pink, turquoise blue and sunshine yellow, overlooking pretty Cadogan Gardens. An extension of the hotel’s Sir Frank’s Bar and The Fuji Grill, the exclusive space serves breakfast, plus sushi and Japanese-inspired small plates, paired with rose and cocktails (the Sloane Martini is a must). Dogs are also welcome.

115-116 Sloane St, London SW1X 9PJ, beaverbrooktownhouse.co.uk

Norma

Terrace at Norma

Pretend you’re on holiday in Sicily on the new terrace at Norma, a charming Italian restaurant in Fitzrovia. It features vibrant colours inspired by southern Italy: think parasols, lemons and lush foliage – a beautiful setting from which diners can tuck into small plates and cocktails. The aperitivo terrace menu, curated by head chef Giovann Attard, includes the likes of burrata with broad beans, cured egg yolk and garlic croutons; tomato salad with black olives and pecorino; and beech-smoked anchovies with crostini. Enjoy alongside pitchers of punch – perfect for lunch in the sunshine with friends.

8 Charlotte St., London W1T 2LS, normalondon.com

Rotunda

Tulum terrace at Rotunda

The new waterside terrace at King’s Cross restaurant Rotunda channels Tulum, with tropical greenery and a Mexican-inspired summer menu. Feast on small plates of tuna tartare tacos, beef croquettes with habanero, chargrilled lamb and chimichurri spatchcock poussin, alongside tequila-based cocktails. Large groups, meanwhile, can choose from BBQ and grill party menus – and watch out for special tastings and events taking place there this summer.

90 York Wy, London N1 9AG, rotundabarandrestaurant.co.uk

Cin Cin

Sitting on a corner of a bustling street in Fitzrovia you’ll find Cin Cin, a modern Italian neighbourhood restaurant which promises a slice of calm – and delicious food – away from the hustle and bustle of central London. Just a short walk from the prime surrounding shopping district, and theatreland of Soho – it makes for a perfect spot to grab a pre-theatre dinner or a post-shopping beverage. The menus, which change seasonally, offer an array of delicious Italian dishes made with fresh and well-sourced ingredients.

21A Foley St, London W1W 6DS, cincin.co.uk

The Hari Garden Terrace

The Hari Garden Terrace, Summer

Come summer time, The Hari’s Garden Terrace transforms into a Mediterranean-inspired suntrap oasis, surrounded by crawling ivy. This year it features a beach bar-style set-up created in partnership with Malfy Gin, complete with gin cocktails inspired by the Amalfi coast. Set under a retractable glass roof, it’s suitable for all weathers, though naturally it’s particularly idyllic for long lunches in the sunshine.

20 Chesham Pl, London SW1X 8HQ, thehari.com

Coppa Club

Coppa Club

Whatever the season, us Londoners can’t seem to get enough of Coppa Club’s riverside igloos. They’re back with a new spring look – think woven wicker chairs, bamboo lanterns and linen throws beneath suspended botanicals. Fitting six people, the igloos offer an à la carte menu with a selection of seasonal European dishes: sharing platters of seared garlic king prawns, fresh pasta and sourdough pizzas all feature.

3 Three Quays Walk, Lower Thames St, London EC3R 6AH, coppaclub.co.uk

Chiltern Firehouse

Chiltern Firehouse

With its wicker chairs, black and white striped sofas and beautiful greenery, the courtyard of Chiltern Firehouse has long been the place to see and be seen in London. Head over for a boozy lunch as you soak up the ever-buzzy atmosphere. Nothing beats Chiltern’s fresh oysters paired with a few glasses of champagne.

1 Chiltern St, London W1U 7PA, chilternfirehouse.com

Chicama

Chicama

The second restaurant from the Pachamama group, Chelsea’s Chicama is a charming seafood restaurant named after a coastal town in Peru – not the word chic, although that does describe it well. If you can pry yourself away from the pretty beach-inspired indoors, the outdoor terrace is an equally lovely dining spot for sunny days: a petite plant-filled space overflowing onto the pavement on a quiet section of the Kings Road. From here, tuck into a meat-free menu of vibrant seafood and vegetarian small plates alongside colourful cocktails.

383 King’s Rd, London SW10 0LP, chicamalondon.com

Petersham Nurseries

Petersham Nurseries

Dine beneath a canopy of bougainvillea, vines and jasmine at Petersham Nurseries Cafe, a greenhouse-style restaurant in Richmond. Since it was founded in 2004, it has led the way in eco-friendly dining, with much of the produce coming from the organic family farm in Devon. Seasonal menus are inspired by Italian cuisine, focusing on simple, fresh dishes presented beautifully.

Off Church Ln, Petersham Rd, Richmond TW10 7AB, petershamnurseries.com

Angler, South Place Hotel

Angler Roof Terrace

Perched atop South Place Hotel, Angler’s 40-seat west-facing roof terrace boasts lovely views of the city. Chef Gary Foulkes heads up the Michelin-starred kitchen, which serves up a fish-focused menu of dishes like Cornish turbot with scallop stuffed courgette and Dorset crab with bouillabaisse sauce. anglerrestaurant.com

The River Café

The River Cafe

A true London stalwart, The River Cafe has remained largely unchanged since Ruth Rogers and Rose Gray launched it back in 1987. Perched beside the Thames in Hammersmith, it’s an endlessly glamorous spot serving Italian fare, with its own dreamy riverside terrace. The menu is seasonal, though some signature dishes remain constant, such as the chargrilled squid with chili and rocket, and the Chocolate Nemesis dessert.

Thames Wharf, Rainville Rd, London W6 9HA, rivercafe.co.uk

Rail House Cafe

Rail House Cafe

While in the past Victoria hasn’t been much of a foodie destination, these days it’s brimming with great places to eat. This is mainly thanks to the new Nova development at Sir Simon Milton Square, a culinary hub with an array of outdoor restaurants and bars which flood onto the central promenade. One of these is Rail House Cafe, the younger sibling of Fitzrovia’s Riding House Cafe. With cosy cushions and a mix of small and large tables, this terrace is an ideal al fresco dining spot whether you’re after brunch, lunch or dinner; healthy or indulgent.

8 Sir Simon Milton Sq, London SW1E 5DJ, railhouse.cafe

The Ivy Chelsea Garden

The Ivy Chelsea Garden by Paul Winch Furness

Paul Winch Furness

It would be wrong not to include this ever-popular Chelsea haunt, one of the prettiest outdoor restaurants in town. Come rain or shine, few places beat The Ivy’s idyllic English garden, a spacious botanical haven decked out with flowers and foliage, plus a glasshouse available for private dining. Enjoy Ivy classics like the shepherd’s pie, chicken milanese and traditional fish and chips, or pick from the plant-based menu (think Malaysian curry and spicy jackfruit salad), alongside a wide array of wines and cocktails.

Did you know that there are 14 different types of hats? Boaters, bonnets, baseball caps, bucket hats, wide-brimmed, fedoras, there’s a style for every taste, a shape for every head. We’ve consulted the experts at Penmayne of London and Lock & Co hatters to find the best summer hats to suit everyone.

‘There is something very elegant and beautiful about a woman in a hat, so wear it with confidence. Wearing a hat is a statement and if it is new to you it can feel a bit strange at first, but you just need to wear it and get used to it, like a new pair of shoes. You’ll be surprised by how many compliments you get and wonder how you ever lived without it.’ Claire Howeson, founder of Penmayne of London.

The Best of British Style – Fashion, Beauty, Brands & More

How To Wear Summer Hats

Christy’s Hats share their tips for wearing a hat in summer, to events and weddings…

How should you style your summer hats?

Panamas are a great classic addition to your summer wardrobe, using the unique lightweight toquilla palm that’s handwoven in Ecuador, they keep your head cool and protected in the summer heat. The classic shape of the Ethan preset Panama can bring a little drama to your outfit, transforming it instantly to a more sophisticated look. A ladies wide brim style, such as the Emilia Panama is a key summer look that adds an instant chic factor.

Hats at weddings: essential or extravagant?

Essential. Hats are essential in order to take your wedding attire to the next level. There is no need for extravagance, keep it classic and cool. Ensure you wear a hat that works with your proportions and one that compliments your outfit rather than upstaging it. A classic Christy’s Ascot Panama (above) for a summer wedding is an investment you won’t regret.

Key to looking stylish in summer hats?

Invest in an Ascot Panama style that you can treasure. It will become your summer side-kick that protects you from the sunshine and ensures you look great.

Claire Howeson of Penmayne of London believes you should ‘go big and enjoy it’ at Ascot. It’s about the only place where you can guarantee that someone will be wearing a hat that’s bigger and crazier than yours. Your outfit doesn’t need to be ‘matchy matchy’. Bold clashing colours and prints can look great too. Focus on the silhouette of your outfit and hat. In my opinion that is where it all comes together and you can have lots of fun with this at somewhere like Ascot.’ She continues,  ‘I love summer straws styled with boho white dresses or wide-legged trousers – think Sienna Miller at Henley.’

Claire also agrees with Christy’s when it comes to weddings and hats…They are essential. How often do you get to dress up in a gorgeous outfit and stylish hat? It is so smart. Go for good quality, a classic shape and a nice neutral band – that way you can wear it with everything and it won’t tire year on year.’

For summer, a bit of shade is necessary, so don a fabulous hat and prepare for the admiring glances. These are the best on the market right now…

How to Find the Right Hat for You

Claire Howeson from Penmayne of London shares her tips on finding the right hat:

‘My advice would always be to keep it simple and go for quality; buy one great quality hat that you can wear with everything and will last you for years to come. It won’t go out of fashion, will become a trusted wardrobe staple and will look and feel completely different from a cheaper version. And by the time you’ve brought a couple of cheaper hats that won’t last the season you are much better off making the investment.’

Colour schemes

‘What colour are your coats, jackets and scarves? The answer to this question tends to reflect the colours you wear most often and feel most comfortable in. It’s a great starting point and tends to steer towards one of two camps; either black and blue hats or brown and taupe hats. While everyone seem to love grey. What is your skin tone? A hat sits right next to your face, so it’s really important to go for a felt colour that suits your skin tone; something that brings warmth and colour to your skin and doesn’t wash you out:

Pale skin and light skin tones: Darker colours like grey, brown, burgundy, green and dark blue will contrast with your skin and bring warmth and colour. I would suggest avoiding black as this can wash out pale skin.

Olive skin tones: This warmer complexion will suit a much wider range of colours. Most colours will look great on you but try to opt for shades that are either slightly brighter or darker than the middle ground.

Darker skin tones: You can pretty much wear any colour you like but try to keep some contrast between your skin colour and the felt colour.’

Watch your head

‘If you are tall, you can wear wide-brimmed hats and can carry contrasting colours. Try to avoid small and short brimmed hats as they will look out of proportion with the rest of your body.’ ‘If you are smaller in height, avoid wearing wide-brimmed hats and instead choose a brim that stays within the width of your shoulders. Choosing a hat that’s a similar colour to your outfit can help to create the illusion of a few extra inches.’

Flatter your face

‘If your face shape is round, try to avoid wearing hats with a round crown and instead go for something more angular. You can wear a medium to wide brim but make sure you have some height in the crown to elongate the face. If you have a long face, go for a medium sized brim and a shorter crown to balance out the length of your face. If you have a small face and delicate features, opt for a style that has a small brim so that it doesn’t swamp you.’

Fedoras and Trilbies

The fedora is versatile and great with almost everything. If you have a round face, this will flatter and compliment your features. Opt for classic colours such as navy, camel or khaki.

Hats For Men

Roger Stephenson, the Deputy Chairman of Lock & Co and 7th  generation family member of Lock & Co, sheds some light on finding the best menswear hats:

‘Hats suit everyone, it is just a matter a choosing the right hat that suits you. Caps are very popular at the moment, especially 8 piece caps. They seem to be appealing to a younger, more fashion conscious buyer. They are very versatile as they can be worn in town with an overcoat or more casually for everyday. We have a great choice of tweeds and cloths to choose from for both urban and country wear.’ ‘Our cashmere beanies, which we have made in collaboration with Johnstons of Elgin, have proved to be a big hit with both men and women. They are beautifully tactile and ideal for winter weather.’ ‘A good quality felt hat, commonly known as a trilby or fedora, is a really good investment. They are very hard wearing and should last many years with the proper care. Every gentleman should have at least on in their wardrobe. When choosing a felt hat or fedora, the secret is to get the proportion of crown and brim right for the build and face shape of the customer.’
