If you’re looking for a romantic dining spot this summer, you won’t find much better than the new pop-up experience at Coworth Park. Nestled in the hotel’s Lime Grove you’ll find a geodesic dome, festooned in twinkling lights and surrounded by plants and flowers. From here, guests are invited to dine al fresco under the starry night sky courtesy of Michelin-starred chef Adam Smith, in collaboration with Dom Pérignon.
Choose between a three, four or five course dinner menu or an afternoon tea, all named after constellations and paired with a hand-picked selection of Champagnes. In keeping with Adam’s signature style, dishes are creative, exquisitely presented, and perfectly designed to complement the Dom Pérignon expressions. If you opt for the full monty five-course dinner, the evening will begin with a selection of canapés, followed by a Kentish lamb kebab with buttermilk, salted cucumber and mint; langoustines with tomato, kimchi and ginger; and warm caviar with kelp. The larger course is a flavoursome BBQ veal cutlet, served with garden salad, sweetbreads and truffle, and for dessert it’s a delightfully light mango and coconut sorbet with chocolate and mint. Each course is presented with a different glass of Dom Pérignon bubbly, from a 2002 Plenitude 2 to a 2006 Rosé, and throughout the evening a telescope will be available for guests to further explore the galaxy.
All this takes place amid the remote and beautiful setting of Coworth Park: a picture of tranquility, set across 240 acres of Berkshire parkland. Part of the Dorchester Collection, Coworth Park is a 70-room country house hotel, with a dining room headed up by famed UK chef Adam Smith. As well as helping elevate Restaurant Coworth Park to Michelin-starred status last year, Adam has won numerous culinary awards himself. In 2017 he was awarded Master of Culinary Arts by the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, followed by Hotel Chef of the Year at the Hotel Cateys 2018.
