How will you be ringing in 2023? Dancing on a rooftop? Catching a fireworks display? Ice-skating against the backdrop of an iconic building? Sipping cocktails in a secret speakeasy? The choices are endless in London, one of the best places in the world to spend New Year’s Eve. An eclectic mix of parties are taking place across the capital’s jazziest bars, clubs, restaurants, hotels and museums – from house party-style shindigs to decadent dinners and Studio 54-themed discos. Here’s the C&TH pick of the best New Year’s Eve parties to book this year.

London: Where To Spend New Year’s Eve 2022

KOKO Electronic NYE

Following a £70m restoration, Camden hotspot KOKO is back with a bang. Housed in a historic Grade II listed Victorian theatre, the venue is renowned for its live music and club events. Its New Year’s Eve party is set to be a big one, hosted by Grammy-nominated producer Jayda G alongside other special guests. One for the hardcore partiers, it goes on until 5am.

Jurassic Party at the Natural History Museum

Ring in 2023 beside dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum, which is throwing another unique New Year’s Eve fiesta following the success of the 2019 event. Expect live music, a silent disco, Jurassic-themed performers, musical bingo and access to selected galleries after dark – plus plenty of drinks and nibbles. Jurassic disco fancy dress (niche, but we love it) is encouraged and there will be a prize for the best dressed.

Silverleaf at Pan Pacific London

A recently opened addition to sleek City hotel Pan Pacific London, Silverleaf is a cocktail bar spearheaded by three of London’s top bartenders. Head there this New Year’s Eve for music from the award-winning DJ Yoda, plus live experiential performances – and of course expertly crafted drinks. There are two packages on offer: the New Year’s Eve Early Hours option, which includes two cocktails and nibbles, and the New Year’s Eve Late Hours x DJ Yoda, where you’ll also get finger food and a bottle of champagne.

Moulin Rouge New Year’s Eve Party at The Ned

Dance the night away at The Ned, a grand former banking hall which now houses a hotel, members’ club and numerous restaurants. Its New Year’s Eve party is a homage to 1890s Paris, featuring cabaret, aerial displays, cancan dancers and DJs, plus free-flowing cocktails.

Quaglino’s

With its glitzy décor and live music offering, a visit to long-standing St James’ restaurant Quaglino’s always feels special – so it’s a good option for New Year’s Eve. This year the restaurant is throwing an all-day extravaganza, kicking off with a swing brunch ahead of an early dinner sitting. Alternatively, book a later table and you’ll be able to keep it all the way through until 3am. Britain’s Got Talent winner, swing group Jack Pack, will be heading up the entertainment until a DJ takes over for the early hours.

New Year’s Eve Spectacular at Southbank Centre

Party through the decades at the Royal Festival Hall, where each floor is being transformed to reflect a different time period for the annual New Year’s Eve Spectacular. Think dance classes, themed nightclubs, live acts, DJs, photo booths and more, with plenty of options for drinking and dining – and a view of the city’s fireworks display from various terraces.

COYA Mayfair

Take a trip to ancient Peru at the ever-buzzy COYA Mayfair, which is renowned for its immersive party experiences. It’s being transformed into a Golden Inca Empire for the big night, decked out with gold décor, twinkling lights and garden foliage. Live performers, DJs, singers, saxophonists and a live band will create a fun atmosphere, with a suitably lavish menu to match. Get your NYE celebrations started early by opting for the popular Soul Grandioso Brunch, or book a table for dinner and continue the party with cocktails at the Pisco Bar.

Nightjar

Low-lit, slick and classy, Nightjar is a speakeasy done right. There are now two branches, the original in Shoreditch and another in Soho – both of which are throwing New Year’s Eve parties to remember. In Shoreditch, it’s the winning combination of live music and cocktails; in Soho there’s a special performance from Italian piano maestro Eric Ranzoni, who plays with both his hands and his feet, plus champagne and charcuterie.

Decimo at The Standard

Easily one of the capital’s trendiest hangouts, The Standard always puts on a good show, and no doubt its New Year’s Eve offering will live up to expectation. Taking place in its rooftop restaurant, Decimo, the party is being hosted by DJ Benji B, alongside another soon-to-be-announced guest. Keen to go all out? Book the Stay & Play Package to enjoy a night in one of the hotel’s stylish bedrooms, plus a hangover-curing breakfast the next morning.

Sky Garden

Ring in the new year up in the clouds at Sky Garden, one of London’s most famous skyscrapers featuring lush landscaped gardens and panoramic views. There are various different packages available this New Year’s Eve, including dinners and tasting menus at both Fenchurch Restaurant and Darwin’s Brasserie, and bar tables with canapes and light bites. You can also get standing tickets for the Sky Garden party, which includes a glass of champagne – with other drinks and snacks available to buy on the night.

The Little Scarlet Door

Sister venue to Fulham’s Little Blue Door is the recently opened Little Scarlet Door on Soho’s Greek Street, a New York loft-inspired bar designed to create a house party vibe. The lively hangout is hosting a Studio 54-style party this NYE, complete with disco balls galore and a light up dancefloor. Enjoy a canapes and rum punch reception, relax in the Living Room and Kitchen area and have a boogie in the Basement Studio, with music all night from resident DJs.

Somerset House

Glide into 2023 at Somerset House, which is hosting a New Year’s Eve bash to remember, complete with ice skating, music, food and more. Guests can dance to music from Soho Radio, Foundation FM and DJ and drag race royalty Jonbers Blonde, and enjoy Alpine treats from the Chalet Suisse pop-up by Jimmy Garcia (think fondue and champagne). To top it all off, a firework display will take place on Somerset House’s River Terrace at midnight.

Amazónico

Berkeley Square’s lavish Latin American restaurant Amazónico is also channelling Studio 54 with its New Year’s Eve party, with music from renowned DJ Roger Sanchez. A homage to the heyday of excess and opulence, the Jungle Fever Party will feature an open bar with specially created cocktails. The venue’s tropical-inspired décor will come to life with mirror balls, neon lights and installations, with guests encouraged to dress for the occasion – think sequinned jumpsuits, feather boas and jungle prints. There are various packages to choose from, including a free-flowing drinks only option, or the full Jungle Fever Experience which includes a dinner menu and Ruinart champagne.

The Croc Bowling Alley at Ham Yard Hotel

Easily London’s most fashionable bowling alley sits at the bottom of the Ham Yard Hotel, which features vintage bowling shoes and Howard Hodgin artworks. Head there this NYE for some bowling, dancing and champagne, with music from DJ collective Freight Train and canapes at midnight.

Sexy Fish

Mayfair’s coolest spot is hosting a blowout NYE party this year, featuring live saxophonist, percussionists, dancers, an Italian DJ duo headliner and, of course, a midnight countdown. There’s also the usual mouthwatering meals, delicious cocktails, and Instagram-worthy interiors.

Bōkan

Canary Wharf’s rooftop restaurant Bōkan boasts some of the best views in the city, and always has a fun, glamorous feel. There are some pretty enticing dinner options available this New Year’s Eve (including a decadent six-course tasting menu), but if you’re just interested in the party that’s an option too: The Party Package will give you entry to the event plus one drink.
